chess

this should have been an average page for the comic but then i started drawing that chess set. it is amazing no matter how annoyingly long it took to draw and then color and then shade. it totally rocks, and i love how it came out and so it gets a special mention.

Rant

Ok i need to rant for a bit so go ahead and ignore me.
it's the comic, in the beginning it was really fun because i was working on a webcomic with my friend and i was chalenging myself and all that jazz. but now it's getting to be a chore. I'm two years in and I'm not getting any help anymore and Kira is turning everything around story wise. She askes for more heads up and she wants me to start getting a buffer but she's not putting in any work. Each of her scripts is maybe half a page, she'll write a handful of them pass them over to me then ignore the comic for the next month or whenever i come asking for more scripts. then she complains about how it's not like she wanted when i post the pages. I put hours into these pages. sure I'm no longer spending 6 hours on a single page but 3 hours a page is nothing to scoff at especially when it's twice a week like clockwork for the past 2 years give or take. the closet was originally a joke it was never a story idea that i wanted to follow for this long. I keep thinking that this is going to end and i'd rather it be sooner then later.

responsibilitys

the thing about collaborations is that you have no control beyond your own part in the project. this can get stressful when people agree to do more then they can actually get done.

The Plan

Ok here is the plan for my project.
As soon as they get the computers up i'm going to start building Flit in Maya.

My goal is to build and rig a low poly model of Flit for a game environment.
if i finish early i plan to build a landscape for him to play in, and start animating jumps a run cycle, and other things like that.

Flit:
flit is a small purple creature. his body structure is smiler to a cat but he is leaner with slightly longer legs and a tail like a lions. his ears are closer to a rabbits then a cats.

ok that's not the best picture but but there it is and there are plenty of pictures of him in the comic so go look at The Realm of my Roommates Closet (link in sidebar)

not quite dreaming

you know how ideas always seem to turn up at the most random of times like when you're on the verge of sleep, that happened to me last night. two characters that i had completely forgotten about popped into my head. i ended up writing about them until way later then i should have been up. the best part, i still don't even know their names, or if they have names for that matter. for now they are being called the Crocodile king and his friend. the king is about 6 and the friend is about 10 or 11. they're going to star it this years Halloween arc for the closet.

this is a shot I'm going to try to work into the comic. that building in the back is the library of Tanisburg. i couldn't get the angles wright when i tried to sketch it so I'm built a model in Maya and I'm going to work of that.

a page for my comic. Actually this is a page for a filler arc. see i only draw the comic, i don't write it. so occasionally the writer will fall behind, and I'll take up the slack by putting in one of my filler pages. this is one of those. still i was looking at it and it's just, well. It's so much better then my art in the beginning. I started drawing the comic just about a year ago now and looking back i can see how much I've improved even though it doesn't seem like I've done anything different. some of my first pages didn't even have shadows, and now look at them.

You know, I relay like this page.

oh right, this is the background for the newest page of my comic. No one appreciates backgrounds. 2 hours of work and no one will spend more then 5 seconds looking at it.

75 layers in photoshop and no one will pay any attention to it, besides to say it looks good.

good, HA it looks Magnificent! Magnificent I say! HAHAHAHAHa Ahem.

:)
